About Us

Our purpose in starting a new church in South County is to bring hope in Christ to the community and the university. As you may know, 'hope' is our state motto, and an anchor is our state symbol. These things are based, in part, on a passage from the Bible that speaks of hope in Jesus Christ as an anchor for the soul (Hebrews 6:19-20).

The message about Jesus that we call the gospel is a transforming message. It brings new life and true hope. Through the gospel, we can have a sure confidence that we possess right now forgiveness of our sins, peace with God, and His transforming love. And we look forward to a day when the despair, evil, and death that so often characterize this life will be forever vanquished.

We believe it is only through this message of hope in Christ that lives are truly & gloriously changed here, now, and forever.

It is this message of hope that we desire to bring to the community and the university. And we come not with any delusion that we are better than, but rather that we are servants of the community and university. We are flawed, broken people bringing a message of real hope to other flawed, broken people. As Jesus says to all who recognize the burden of their sinful brokenness, Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28).
